Summary of This Project

This page is the home for a fundraising project called “Lean For Haiti.”

We are hoping that people will read a personal journal written by Russell Maroni, an x-ray technician from Akron Children’s Hospital who volunteered in Haiti after the devastating 2010 earthquake.

The journal is currently available in these formats:

Any proceeds from sales will be donated to Friends of the Orphans. We also hope readers will donate directly, after reading the journal.

$350 in Direct Donations So Far

Readers of Russell’s journal have donated a total of $350 through our special trackable link to Friends of the Orphans.

We released the Journal a few weeks before we had the tracking link, so we’re certain that others donated without our knowledge.

Thanks to everyone for their continued support of this project and Haiti relief.

Podcast with Russell Maroni

Thanks to Diana Davis for interviewing Russell about his volunteer work in Haiti and his journal.

“Overall, my personal sacrifice was very small,” said Maroni, who mentioned that many others from the hospital have given their time and resources to Haiti. “My goal for this journal is that it might raise awareness of the need and the adventure of mission work.”
